The following parties are involved in the preparations for the 16th FINA World Championships 2015 in Kazan: Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation, Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, city of Kazan, All-Russian Swimming Federation.

  • The Ministry for Sports of Russia is responsible for the development of Sports in Russia, at all spheres. The Ministry has been led by Vitaly Mutko since 2008.

  • The Cabinet of the Republic of Tatarstan is the executive and regulatory public authority. The Cabinet is responsible to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan. It consolidates, directs and controls the work of ministries, state committees and other authorities under Cabinet’s jurisdiction.

  • The City of Kazan is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. Kazan lies at the confluence of the Volga and Kazanka Rivers in European Russia. The multi-ethnic city is honored by UNESCO and famous for Muslims and Christians living side-by-side in peace.

Sports and youth ministries of the regions of the Russian Federation and higher education institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan are non-profit partners for the 16th FINA World Championships 2015 in Kazan and are actively engaged in the preparation and delivery of this large-scale high-profile sporting event.

Under partnership agreements, the ministries and higher education institutions contribute to the Kazan 2015 Volunteer Recruitment, Selection and Training Programme, facilitate the promotion of the FINA World Championships and encourage students and young people to do volunteer work.
